Epic May 20, 2007 One of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. Some of the original pieces, for example "Drive to the boatyard", are just incredible, and worth the purchase on their own. Then you've got Duran Duran and The Cure, without mentioning FC Kahuna's beautiful chillout tune. As another reviewer mentioned, this album brings together a lot of seemingly disparate tunes, yet it is coherent and approachable. An easy five stars.
So Good i can taste it in My saliva June 1, 2006 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
i know that this is one of the best CDs that i have ever bought, i think that the variety of the songs that are in the film is so good i recomend this album to anyone who likes layer cake. all the songs just seem to remind me of certain moments in the film and i think that that is what is the best part of the album , the fact that it brings the film to your mind when u listen to it.
Classic example of a sountrack album that stands on its own October 2, 2005 7 out of 8 found this review helpful
You probably wouldn't look at this album if you hadn't already seen the film. As such, it is a BRILLIANT compilation that is just as good as you remember it to be in the film. But even more impressive is the way that it hangs together in its own right .... so many disparate tracks and artists, yet nothing seems to jar or be out of place. This is certainly a reflection of just how good the original choice of tracks was when it came to providing background music for the film and its various moods.Be assured - if you liked the film and found yourself thinking "I reckon I'd like the sountrack album" - then you will.
chill out album July 4, 2005 2 out of 21 found this review helpful
Collection of chavvy tunes, but some good stuff for the rest of us!
Good to drive to April 11, 2005 29 out of 32 found this review helpful
Ok I shall keep this very simple. I watched the film on Tuesday night and bought the soundtrack on the Wednesday - it's that good. Ok so this is something I often do (I have a large catalogue of soundtracks) but only if it's worth it. I paid the full 13.99 because I wanted it there & then and didn't want to wait for postage but if you can wait for delivery then buy this right now for what I consider to be a bargain price. THIS CD HAS NOT LEFT MY DISC CHANGER IN THE CAR SINCE I BOUGHT IT!
