Winter 04 CD1 is the one of the best Hed Kandi cd's January 1, 2006 This box set is a great follow up to Hed Kandi Summer 04. I think that CD1 of this set one of the best Hed Kandi CD's. The tracks are truly classic Kandi and you can listen to them over and over again.
A Unique and Thorouhly enjoyable Mix December 14, 2005 Hed Kandi are one of my favourite labels, as their unique style and mixing methods create a different feel to the music then your usual Clubmix commercial compilations. But lets be aware, you can't compare HK to MoS. MoS is an entirely different kettle of fish, choosing the more typical mix methods and a more commercial sound. This CD is a lot of fun, great to get your night going. It's soulful, chilled, and energetic. It fills you with the kind of energy that for me only your classics such as Cafe Del Mar or Insomnia can emulate. Worth the 10.
hed kandi! It gets you in the mood for dancing! May 2, 2005 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
As a Hed Kandi fan, I think this compilation rocks. Most of the tracks are excellent, and when comparing this to the World Series U.K Mix 1 compilation it is as varied and stylish as ever. I'm sure it will appeal to various music lovers. If you have not heard of Hed Kandi before now is the time to crank it up and see for yourself! it really gets you moving, and put a smile on you too! If you really wish your day to be as bright and cheerful as the music here put it on in the morning, and no doubt you'd have a fantastic day all throughout. It is infectious, mood enhancer ;-) one word of warning, you can't stop moving, and want to dance, but good for keeping fit though. Brilliant!
A fantastic CD. January 25, 2005 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is the first Hed-Kandi CD I've purchased in a while, and the 3 CDs offer a sublime mix of chill and dance music, it makes the MoS CDs sound so commerical and dated. The first CD is very relaxing, only have to skip over one or two tracks I don't like, the 2nd CD is the best in my opinion, some great remixes and just chilled disco dance, the 3 CD isn't really hardcore dance, but is upbeat than the first two. It's a great CD, one of my favourites in the past 3 years, and offers many more listen to again tracks than the MoS compliations, which date so quickly. I imagine in 5 years this will still sound as fresh as it does today. Highly recommended it you like house and dance music.
The Sound of Winter! January 4, 2005 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
After listening to Hed Kandi on Jazz FM for the last year, i decided to purchase the newly released winter mix album. I soon discovered that the CD was well worth the expenditure and is a must for all Hed Kandi and dance music fans alike. The Simple 3CD format provides music to suit all types of choice and mood. CD1, The winter beach mix provides listeners with the feeling of warmth and sunshine despite being stuck in the thick of winter at home. My Hot pick of CD1 is Track 13, "Let the sunshine thru" - despite being on the Summer Mix it still does not age. CD2, The disco heaven mix, is in my view the best of the three. There are 13 tracks of glittering dancefloor moments with several good tracks including Track 6 "Can't fake it". Undoubtedly the best track is LnM Projekts cover of Fleetwood Mac's Everywhere. With Vocals from the ever present Bonnie Bailey this track is simply a joy to listen to - you wont be able to listen to it without a smile on your face I assure you! CD3, The twisted disco mix, goes to 3am on the dancefloor, showing the darker side of Hed Kandi. Mylo's fabulous Drop the Pressure and Mymymy from Armand van Helden are just 2 to mention. My personal fave is Soul Central's re-vamp of Rhythm is Rhythm's string's of life. This track simply tore up the dancefloor's in 2004 and continues to delight. All in all, a really good album that can suit everyone. My only moan, and it is very small is that some of the songs were also on the Summer Mix, but who cares what I think! Any decent person or Hed Kandi should certainly consider in investing in this mix album, adding themselves to the growing list of Hed Kandi fans!
