Satisfactary May 22, 2008 A very good track , but was not worthy of being a single such as 'Radar' and 'Toy Soldier'. It is very easy to dance to with an infectious bridge and chorus. The only real lack is that this song had an animated video for it. Despite this being a first for Britney, cartoon videos don't sell as much anymore. They only show her lack of interest in promoting the single.
The other track, 'Everybody', is a not-so-bad attempt at a remake of 'Sweet Dreams'. It needs to grow on you.
I bought this item because I am a Britney fan and a collector. I can say that mostly people like me would buy this single. Since there is nothing exceptional here, I suggest you buy the iTunes special edition of Blackout which has both 'Break the Ice' and 'Everybody'.
Awesome - fast becoming my fave Britney tune! April 13, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful

Break The Ice is fast becoming my favourite Britney song. An immediate standout on her Blackout album, its appeal just grows and grows with every listen. It's hypnotic, haunting and features some of Britney's best vocals for a long time.
With a driving beat combined with a fizzing synth-hook with an amazing instrumental part at about 2.40 in the song this feels like the soundtrack to a video game. It's that sense of fantasy and magic that is summed up wonderfully in the awesome video that encompases Break The Ice and defines it as yet another Britney classic and hit in the making.
Everybody (a track that was originally only available as a limited edition bonus track on Blackout) serves as the b-side and featuring a brilliant Eurythmics sample is another perfect Britney pop moment. It feels very 'old-school Britney' and with a brilliant sing-along-chorus is a total winner.

Another Amazing Follow-Up March 30, 2008 15 out of 22 found this review helpful
"Break the Ice" is the second follow-up single to Spears' "Gimme More", following the ultra catchy "Piece of Me". The single begins with Spears both apologising to her fans for keeping them waiting for so long - which suggests that perhaps "Break the Ice" should have been the first single from the album - and also to the man she is singing to.
The song is so catchy and vibrant and plods along through electro and trance infested beats. It is one of the best songs from "Blackout", Spears' fifth studio album, which has been criminally underlooked by many music fans, despite being one of her best - if not her best - albums so far.
The video which accompanies the video suits it perfectly. A cartoon Britney finds herself being chased by villains throughout an unknown city, thwarting their actions and finding her own clone before destroying it. Animated, sexy and cool, it symbolises everything that the song is about: the return of Britney, getting rid of the old and in with the new.
If you enjoyed her previous singles, you'll enjoy this even more and if this does not encourage you to go out and buy "Blackout", then I do not know what will!
Single #3 to continue sucessful trend! March 26, 2008 4 out of 9 found this review helpful
Well here we go, the third single from 'Blackout'. This single is pure pop perfection. Catchy and satisfying to listen to there is nothing here not to like. The single is produced by Danja, producer of 'Gimme More' and several other cuts of the album. It's upbeat, it's fun, it's a little different from the other stuff out there and show equal the sucess of 'Piece Of Me' before it. The single is gaining momentum worldwide and the video is definately something different. This is a turning point for Britney, with a critically acclaimed T.V. sitcom role already done and Britney currently recording new music all that remains is for 'Break The Ice' to become a world wide hit and put Britney right back on top again!
