3 out of 5 stars what it does document is good, but too much missed out   December 24, 2004
The dvd does a good job of recalling how the NWO emerged in WCW, and gives a relatively detailed account of events up until the Giant (aka Big Show) joined, then it misses out everything in-between then and when Vince brought them to the WWF.

The NWO had a very long list of members in WCW, and thus countless story lines involving all of them, so they were never going to cover every single part of the NWO's history, but some of the important stuff they left out is unforgivable, such as the recruitment of Syxx/X-pac, Eric Bishcoffs betrayal of WCW, the NWO fractioning into the Wolf Pac, and the big feud that ultimately ended Goldberg's winning streak. Leaving such a massive gap in-between is frustrating and disappointing.

When the dvd gets to the NWO's switch to the WWF, it again gives a pretty complete history of what happened to the point where Hogan left and Syxx/X-Pac rejoined (just after Wrestlermania), at this point it ends and we are left without a conclusion, which again is annoying.

What the dvd does document is very good and does capture the confusion, excitement and revolution that the NWO brought into wrestling at the time, but the problem is what was left out. It would also of helped if they actually waited for the whole NWO story to finish before making a dvd about it so we could actually have an ending!

There are clips of interviews with Hogan and Hall talking about the phenomenon of the NWO, which are interesting, but sadly we don't see enough of these.

I don't want to sound too negative, it is a really enjoyable dvd, and brought back some memories, but you cant help but feel that it misses out too much, making this a wasted opportunity by the WWF.

4 out of 5 stars The WWE finally puts it's WCW tape library to good use   October 13, 2002

This video features tons of classic nWo clips, and at first it appears to be a very comprehensive look at the nWo, as it goes into lots of detail over the nWo's gradual formation from Scott Hall's first appearance on Nitro up to The Giant (now The Big Show) joining. OK, so the WWE do use quite a bit of creative license in crediting the nWo's success to the fact Hall and Nash had just come off a successful run with the WWE, but it is still enjoyable. But, then it all goes a bit wrong, as the WWE breezes through the nWo's expansion in under a minute, completely missing out the nWo Wolfpac, Sting and Goldberg. It then goes into the pretty pathetic WWE run of the nWo instead, which is a depressing reminder of how much the WWE messed up the once-great nWo, almost as badly as they bungled the WCW/ECW invasion a year earlier.

It does fall a bit flat towards the end, but for the early footage of the nWo alone, this tape is an essential addittion to the tape collection of every WWE fan that's never seen the old World order running wild in WCW.
