Helmet Cam January 3, 2008 Mine also only lasted 5 minutes but I thought it maybe because I wasn't using lithium batteries. The off button doesn't always work so I have had to just take the batteries out to stop it. It is a impossible to remove from the belt unless you get someone strong to do it. It would be better if it came with a charger. You really don't want to think about changing batteries right bang in the middle of cycling down a hill.
Great Camera for the price September 6, 2006 16 out of 16 found this review helpful
Ok so the picture you get isn't going to be great but it's as good as the video from a normal digital stills camera but not as good as a proper digital video camera. You can buy better cameras for hundreds but bearing in mind your strapping it to a helmet that your assuming your going to need (ie get bashed) do you want to risk loosing that expensive cam in an instant ?
The camera is light and easy to use, its compact and well designed it takes 2 AAA batteries and an SD card, it also has a laser pointer to target what you are recording.
Unreliable, inflexible February 7, 2006 20 out of 28 found this review helpful
Maybe it was specific to the one I had, but it regularly stopped recording after about 5 mins, with plenty of unused memory. You can't really hear the bleeps it makes when you turn it on and off. There is absolutely no Macintosh support, but you can upload the videos by putting the memory card into a card reader. The price seems high when you can buy fully capable digital cameras that can record video for this sort of price. I sent it back. I now have a Sanyo Xacti C5 and have made a helmet-mounting bracket to use it while cycling.
