I really don't know why this product gets such bad reviews.
I first purchased dazzle about a year ago to transfer some old Hi8 camcorder to dvd. unfortunately my pc was not powerful enough and the video it produced only showed a change of picture every 1 second or so. This was NOT the fault of dazzle but my pc having a 1ghz processor (a 2 gh processor is needed)
Fast forward (pun intended) a year and i have a new Dell Vista desktop PC and so i use the dazzle again. This time i needed to download the vista drivers from the webiste labelled on the box AND then install the software on the disc supplied in the box. Then i just connected up the dazzle to the black and yellow cables supplied with the camcorder and click about 3 buttons on the PC and the video is being transfered to DVD. Dead easy.
The software is about as easy and user-friendly as i have ever seen.
If you want to copy camcorder footage to dvd this is highly recomended
Warning uk users only May 2, 2008 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
if you are living in the UK and wish to buy this for recording game videos from your xbox 360 DONT as this Does not support PAL-60 and unfortunatly all the good games like halo 3 gears and COD4 all support PAL-60, just a warning so people do not make the mistake i did
Utter crap! April 19, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I wasted 40 on this product and I've tried every which way to get it to work. The program loads OK and I've connected my VCR all ways, i.e., via the connectors for composite video, a s-video lead, and tried using a scart converter plug, but without success. All I get is a blank preview window. There is no help leaflet, not even decent setup instructions.
My advice is don't waste your time and money on it. Just read some of the other reviews and you will see that I am not alone in saying that it is a load of rubbish. How Pinnacle get away with it is beyond me, because they are still selling this junk!
Doesn't work for me March 8, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Like a previous review, I have to add the same comments, this "thing" doesn't work for me either. I have tried all the different connections that the device takes and I either get no picture at all in the preview window or it's in black and white only. I telephoned the helpline and after listening to all the recorded messages it then cut me off telling me to go online for help. I e-mailed support and despite their automated e-mail telling me a reply would be sent within 1-2 business days, four days later I'm still waiting. Anyone with videos that need converting are sure to have an old VCR and the Dazzle just doesn't work with it.

Unreal. It`s like going back 15 years when it was generally accepted that badly writted glitch infected sotware was the norm & we all just had to grin and bear it. I can`t quite believe that Pinnacle are still punting out rubbish like this and getting away with it. Don`t touch this or any other of their dreadful products with a barge pole.
