When America joined the Vietnam war, it was after the panic of an event that never happened. The US Navy were supposeedly attacked by gunboats of the Vietcong, therefore the way was open for America to join the bloody war and make all the same mistakes that they should have learned in Korea! Here is a chance to simulate some of the air war in Vietnam, including that fateful event when F-8 Crusader pilots observed the non-existant attack.Ho hum, whatever was true for Americans relatively, was true sadly true absolutely for the Vietnamese. The aims of the Americans acn somewhat be flown in a variety of their best aircraft, though not really a true representation of the aircraft put into the field. There is no B-52 or US Army Mohawk (their only fixed wing plane) which played such a massive role. However, the ubiquitous F-4 Phantom appears in Us Air Force colours, though it undertakes bombing missions in which the deadliest opponents are the SAMs which behave like a kamikaze fighter~ trying to hit you. The F-4e with a gun for close range interception of MiGs is not here. The best plane for guns here is the Crusader, which had the best gun kill success for the Americans in Vietnam. This plane is flown from a nicely painted aircraft carrier, though the landings are not easy. The US Army became the largest air force in the world during VietnamX
