3 out of 5 stars Good cooker but not convinced about quality   October 9, 2008

I have used pressure cookers for several years but last night after only the second use whilst opening the pressure cooker the bolt holding the handle in place snapped in half. I was only steaming vegetables, and all pressure had been released but what I can only think must have been the intense heat snapped the bolt. Unfortunately this is only the second time I have used this pressure cooker and the 30 day return policy has lapsed but the one meal I did manage to make in the cooker was lovely.

5 out of 5 stars replacing an old friend.   September 2, 2008

After 53 years of using a high dome I have had to buy this Tower pressure cooker. I know how old my cooker was as it is the same age as my son. We lived in a village and there were no baby foods in tin or jars then. Once a week powdered milk and orange juice could be picked up at a small clinic. I was aware of the adverts for pressure cooking and - hey ho - off I went on a learning curve which was to expand into teaching food studies! I see this pressure cooker has a 10 year guarantee, I may pass it on to the grandchildren. Bea Jones.

5 out of 5 stars Easy to use and excellent results   June 6, 2008

I've used this Tower pressure cooker for 10 years and have used two other brands and prefer this one for its simplicity and good value. Also being made from aluminium makes it lighter so easier to handle during washing than the ones made from steel. My experience is that cooking food under pressure (i.e. higher temperature) not only shortens cooking times but also changes the flavour for the better. I won't be buying a replacement as the one I have still works perfectly. My suggestion is to take care not to damage the removeable rubber gasket in the lid and to follow the instructions that recommend smearing the gasket with cooking oil after washing. I bought a replacement gasket from Tower when I bought the cooker but the old one still works fine as I've been careful with it.

5 out of 5 stars REPLACEMENT TOWER FAMILY PRESSURE COOKER   May 23, 2008

This TOWER FAMILY PRESSURE COOKER is excellent value for money product. We have now been using Pressure Cookers for at least 30 years. wehave found the Tower Cooker to be reliable, versatile, rugged and hardwearing and have no doubt that the one which we have just bought will give us equally excellent service for at least the nevt 10 years. This design is really super, nice to see that old fashioned quality is still available. Also very useful is the avilability of spares in the UK. A real 5 Star product highly recommended.

Had my reservations about how it would perform on my halogen hob but it works a treat. Easy to use, good value for money and does the job perfectly.
