Pretty good but... August 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Using 3 AAA batteries (included), the white leds are pretty bright. The unit is very compact and can be wall mounted with the included doubled side sticky pad or screws. It can stand on a flat surface but isn't as stable as I'd like.
It comes on when it senses movement and off after 15 seconds.
I took a star off cos it turns on even during daylight, while the led means it has very low power consumption, the AAA are not cheap and have limited capacity. I think Philips should have built some logic in it to only turn on only when it's dark.
You may say that's too much to ask for from a 6 unit, but I have a Masterplug LED light that cost 5 that can do just that and more. Shame it's now discontinued.
A life saver August 6, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Ever since I have these Philips sensor lights installed in my a bit too dark staircase to the basement, I am no longer afraid to stumble and fall. These lights are very reliable, very bright and - in comparison to the original product by Osram - you can change batteries without detaching the whole thing by cutting off the sticker behind. Philips' sophisticated solution provides a small backplate with magnets. But these magnets are not holding the light on a metal wall: you can rather either glue or screw this backplate on any wall and only then attach the spotlight to the plate with the magnets. Absolutely clever!

A well made piece of kit that does exactly what it is supposed to. For instant illumination in a small cupboard or corner, at a low price and with zero fitting problems, you would be very hard pushed to find a better product.
Fantastic January 24, 2008 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
I spent a long time looking for a light for my toilet, there is no mains electric in said toilet so I went through several 'innovative' lighting solutions and this one is the only one that illuminates the whole room, stays where I fit it and lasts a long time. It even has a motion sensor so you don't have to touch it which is good for a toilet I guess.
Not sure how it would cope with a conventional bathroom with steam and water around but an absolute must for separate toilet, cupboard under the stairs, sheds, or any small dark room which you want to illuminate. It does exactly what it is supposed to do and I cannot express enough how happy I am with this product.
Highly recommend.
A little beauty December 12, 2007 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
Philips do it again - they have taken a popular concept and added value to it - in this case they have given the battery powered (3x AAA) lamp a built in sensor which detects movement and switches the light on. It works very effectively in my understairs cupboard providing a usefully bright and well dispersed light in small, self adhesive package. In summary, a well thought through, effective product - buy it with confidence.
