Didn't last for more than 12 months September 12, 2008 I brought a Tefal Avanti Deluxe 2 Slice Toaster about 12 months ago and it has stopped working. Toasters are not high tech equipments, but just a few coils that heat up when power is passed through, the issue I had with this one was that the coil that heats up was too thin and broke. I did try to connect the broken ends with copper wires etc. but it didn't last that long.
Does anyone make toasters where the coils are not exposed? Will have to find one !!!
partial toast September 12, 2008 I bought a Tefal Avanti toaster just under two years ago. It looks O.K. but sliced bread does not fit fully into the slot so it only toasts two thirds of the bread. The right hand lever fell off but managed to refit it. Bought a Tefal vitesse kettle at same time and very unhappy with that.
toast not March 29, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This toaster looks good, but unfortunately does not toast very well, most of the time it only toasts the bottom half of the bread, so you have to turn the toast upside down to brown the other half. Do not buy....
Well...it works sometimes November 19, 2007 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I have bught 2 of these toasters from Tefal. We have compact space, so the front loading and controls are just what we needed. I agree with a previous reviewer that the slots are just a bit short and larger slices of bread don't fit into them. On the first one it worked for a year or so and then just died. Bought a second one and after 6 months or so the lever for the high lift fell off and can't be repaired. I also found that 1st slices of toast took longer and the second 2 often burned by the time they popped up.
Lokks nice and works well, just one thing though December 28, 2006 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
I bought this toaster due our last one being melted. But that is a different story.
So this one had the looks to fits in with the rest of our kitchen.
The only thing I don't like about this toaster it that the slots are about half a cm (5mm) shorter that a slice of bread meaning when I'm loading bread into it I have to push the bread down while pushing the lever down to make sure iy goes all the way in.
I'm sure with different bread it will fit perfect or not at all but considering the size of this toaster I thought thet could at least make the slots wider to accompany all types of bread.
