SO-SO TO START WITH AND NOW IT'S EVEN WORSE! August 14, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Now had this strimmer for about 15 months and to be honest I wish I hadn't bothered.
From the start the pro tap spool system for releasing the strimmer line has been nothing but painful. It sticks, you need to remove the spool to unjam, all of this for a system that supposedly needs a tap on the floor. Half my strimming time is spent with the strimmer upside down trying to release the line.
It has a very large head on it so I struggle to get it into tight corners or nooks and crannies.
It has for the last 6 months decided to become temperemental and starts up when the trigger is pushed only if it feels like it. It has more recently started making a strange noise and there is now a serious amount of vibration coming up the main stock when used.
I have many Bosch appliances etc and can't fault any of them for innovation and longevity but this I'm afraid is garbage.
Overall I would give this clumsy piece of machinery 0 stars if I could. It has proven to be more hassle than it's worth and will shortly be going to the big strimmer party in the sky.
Avoid at all costs. For info mine is very lightly used so if you must buy it use it heavily that way it might go wrong whilst still under warranty!
Disappointing May 20, 2008 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I bought this strimmer because it was on offer. That was a mistake.
The performance was adequate when it was new, but has dropped off badly to the point where I rarely use it. The main problem is the cassette; it sticks so that line has to be fed by turning the machine upside down and extending it manually. And the head keeps falling off. I have now lost part of it so can't use the machine even if I wanted to. Spares are almost impossible to buy. I have managed to find spools, but I need the whole casette unit and nobody seems to have any.
Stick to one of the commoner makes. My old Black and Decker lasted years and rarely faltered, and spares were never a problem.

Dissapointing performance does not trim short edges - difficult and fidley to change line spool and head rotation for edge cutting -heavy to use.
Gets the job done July 16, 2007 27 out of 31 found this review helpful
My first trimmer, and boy does it cut through the overgrowth. I found the heavy duty spool extremely effective and it went through my 3 foot high weeds like a hot knife through butter! The 'pro-tap' I still haven't got to grips with and always end up turning the trimmer upside down and manually pulling out more line. The normal spool line seems to wear out a bit quick, but that's probably just normal! All in all, efficient, effective, and well worth the money! Gets the job done!
