Think about the range of motion, and effort involved in benchpressing, or chest flye weights exercises, they are pretty much the opposite of the motions possible with this thing. It's a decent workout for your upper back and shoulders, but it won't do anything for your chest. Sorry folks, start benchpressing or something. If I was you I'd just spend a little more and get yourself some adjustable dumbbells - they are so much more versatile. The elastic stretches to far and the resistance weakens to an extent where it is rendered unusable.
