Love it, but have had 2 break - is this fit for purpose? August 25, 2008 I really like this product, but my first one broke whilst still under guarantee - the plastic lugs that hold that accessories on to the power section snapped off. Give them their due, the manufacturer replaced it with a complete new one without an argument. But the same thing has now happened to the replacement.
Just about acceptable August 6, 2008 Battery very poor, also agree about wiggling about on base, and green light coming on when not charged, also the switch seems to be getting a bit dodgy as well. Maybe it's with not putting it on charge after every use as per hte instructions, but who would leave the charger plugged in all the time wasting power? When I charged it and ran the knife unloaded it went for nearly 3 minutes before my finger got tired and gave up, but actually cutting bread it's poor. The beaters were about useless, the whisk isn't too bad. It's better than nothing; I was surprised how few cordless knives there are on the market, especially given that you can get a cordless DRILL for about 15 and they run for ages. Also I bought mine less than 2 years ago for 28 from Amazon - what's going on?
Can't even whisk egg white up! May 10, 2008 Its proven to be really embarrassing. My mum bought this for my partner's birthday upon my advice and after leaving it constantly plugged in on charge it can't even whisk 3 egg whites up before the battery goes. We didn't even get to use any of the other attachments as the whisk proved it was useless from the start.
Whilst on its charger base the plug shows a red and green light, presuming red was 'charging' and green was 'fully charged' depending on how you wiggled the piece on the base either of these lights would show. If it started red after 5-8 mins it flipped to green claiming it was charged but with NO power in it when tested.
As it HAS to be cordless there was nothing we could do other than buy something else. I wish i'd read the reviews before buying it. Utter waste of money and we are persuing the manufacturer's guarantee.
Double or Nothing December 1, 2007
For me the appeal of this one has to be "Nothing".
I've owned electrice knives in the U.S., since around 1980, and they have always made short work of a turkey with plenty of convenience and power to spare both in the kitchen and at the table.
Of the 4 reviews offered with this product the most common disappointment was in the power and battery life which simply shouldn't be. I also noticed that 2 customers owned up to an average price of 22.50. With a current offering of more than "Double" that . . . I wonder that anyone would buy it at all.
Shop around.
Very Handy November 24, 2006 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have made meringues with the whisk attachment, use the knife a lot and never found that there is not enough charge. The cordless feature is the best thing about it,much safer than having trailing wires, especially when you are using it on top of the oven.
