 Can't do without it / hardwearing July 3, 2008
I've had mine for a couple of years, used twice or more a day (at work). Looks ugly, but beauty comes from within. So much quicker / easier / quicker to clean up than a mini-cafetiere (French Press). And keeps it hot for 30 mins for the slow drinkers like me. The seal's not gone wrong on mine, as previous review, but the official web site says that you can't buy a replacement after the 1-year guarantee. However, for a fiver, it's a bargain. I think they do a tall, thin one for cars, too, but have not tried this. This mug has travelled the UK on weekend breaks, and to Europe when it needs a longer holiday. It sounds tragic, but once you have one you'll keep it.
I bought one for a coffee addict friend. Surprised when he recently said that he takes it mountain / hill climbing with him and brews up (using hot water from flask)at the peak to looks of surprise / envy all round.
Now buying myself a 2nd one, plus one for my son.

I thought this was a great buy until the rubber seal around the filter started to wear out. Now I get mouthfuls of coffee granules and I have had to stop using it. However they are cheap, and as someone else pointed out it can save a fortune if you drink a lot of coffee at work.
I will probably replace mine but I will have my fingers crossed that the seal is better on the next one.

This mug is the BEST way to produce coffee without all the clutter of excess equipment. So very simple but very effective, I've not had a bad cup of coffee and never been so easy to clean than a messy cafetiere. The thermal properties of this mug also excell, as it stays hot for a long time and will not burn your hand.
Also unlike other plastic mug products, you don't taste the plastic.
Get one if you want real coffee - cheaper than the cafe bars January 16, 2006

I've owned one of these for over 8 years - use it at work every morning for that fresh coffee taste at a low cost. Having item combined means less washing up and insulation means your brew stays hot far longer than in a normal mug.Plus if its ever dropped it doesn't break like a pottery one would. Buy one!

What a fantastic idea! The alternative is nearly 2 in Starbucks if i want a decent coffee or i had to bring in my cafetiere and have to wash it out and the cup as well. It really does work, keeping the coffee secure at the bottom of the cup and the cup is insulated so it stays hotter for longer!
