I own a few of Debbie Brown's books and she is definitely my favourite author as far as cake decorating goes. The cakes look very complicated but with step by step clear instructions and photos they are easily achievable by any novice or experienced decorator. The cakes that I have made have all been very successful and I am always busy - thanks to Debbie! Not enough explanation   April 21, 2007  2 out of 3 found this review helpful I like the cakes in this book, they look nice and cheecky but there aren't enough photographs of the various stages of the project so you have to guess. If one has to guess then, why buying the book? As I have already said I do like the cakes but as far as teaching method I prefer Lindy Smith's books. The instructions could be made a bit clearer for a novice and its a lot of guesswork, trial & error, but for anyone with experience it's a good book. Will certainly be attempting more of the cakes. With her usual clear step-by-step instructions accompanied by excellent photography, Debbie Brown makes sure you will succeed with your own creation. Colourful...in more ways than one!...and uncomplicated, easy to read and fun to look at.
