Worth having July 17, 2006 20 out of 22 found this review helpful
This is an excellent addition to anyone's culinary library whether you are a Low GI fan or not - clearly not every recipe will suit every person but the ones we have tried so far are very good indeed.
Clearly nowhere near as many recipes as the 1000 recipe series but this book gives you a variety not found in those publications.
Considering the price, it is well worth it. Healthy eating and a healthy price for the book. A bargain, actually.
Great food, good pictures, easy to stick to February 24, 2006 30 out of 33 found this review helpful
I found this book very easy to use. I was a bit put off at first by the amount of pulses and beans, but tried the recipes and found them delicious. I have lost weight, my husband is not complaining about eating rabbit food and we are both happy!
Pretty Good January 20, 2006 33 out of 37 found this review helpful
This book does have some gaps which are quite frustrating, such as whether a particular recipe can be frozen and cooking temperature for fan ovens. I accept that a lot of the recipes contain meat, however, I have cooked many of the recipes and have not been disappointed. They are simple, relatively quick to prepare and absolutely delicious. A note of frustration for me with cookbooks in general is the number of people each recipe caters for. 6-8 people?? C'mon there's only two of us, it can be a pain to try to reduce the ingredients when pushed for time. Overall I am glad that I bought this book as my introduction to cooking Low-GI style.
gi cooking made easy January 5, 2006 23 out of 26 found this review helpful
I found the recipes simple, easy and delicious, with the whole family happy to tuck in, even those not wanting to lose weight. It's given me enthusiasm and inspiration to stay on the GI path.
Great Recipes December 17, 2005 16 out of 22 found this review helpful
I just loved this book. I cook mostly on the weekends so I try to prepare foods before the week ahead and I found many of these reipes do the trick for me. I have lost weight over the past two months. I agree with others that I wished there was more detail with the reason why and how much , but the overall results speak for themseveles. A very good book in a series of low GI food books out there today. I also recommend Doctor Weiss's book "The BackSmart Fitness Plan.By exercising and eating proper I am no longer struggling from day to day. Thank you
