Yum yum in my tum April 5, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Totally love this book. Did the compulsory January detox thing and this book saved me from meal time boredom. It's now, what, April? and I'm still using it all the time... particular fave is the recipe for granola... I always have a jar full in the kitchen for a quick breakfast fix.
Vorderman and Bean need to get their heads together and bring us another book with more of the same.
In the meantime, if anyone knows of any other great detox recipe books please let me know!
Big on taste, low on hastle February 14, 2006 19 out of 19 found this review helpful
I started with CV's detox diet book, and bought this when I was looking for some more recipe ideas to stop me getting bored. As with the detox book, the recipes that Anita Bean has compiled for this book, are truely excellent. It's easy for restricted diets to be dull and boring, especially if confronted with a load of raw ingredients and not a lot of ideas for different things to do with thm, but that's simply not the case with this collection, for as well as being easy and quick to make, they're full of flavour and variety, and can be easily adapted to personal taste. A good buy if you need hope that fresh home cooked food needn't be either complicated nor time consuming
healthy but fab food August 25, 2004 45 out of 46 found this review helpful
Carol has managed to incorporate recipes for people who aren't even neccessarily that strict about detox but who just love healthy tasty food. There are plenty of recipe ideas here and even scrummy deserts. You can easily adapt the recI would recommend this book to people who like fruit and veg but don't necessarily know how to cook it other than boiled on a plate with meat. It really has opened my eyes to vegetarian dishes and to using lentils and pulses in my meals. The crumble is to die for!!!
Delicious! March 24, 2004 60 out of 62 found this review helpful
These are fantastic recipes! One of the main complaints I read about CV's orginal detox book was the recipes were a bit blah (although I actually like quite a few of them). This recipe book is certainly not full of blah: the recipes are delicious, there is the option of some that are less strict detox, they are well presented and it's a fascinating book just to sit and read. Try the granola! Out of this world!
