Horrid Henry- a Nightmare child March 29, 2008 We loved this Horrid Henry story in my family, especially the first chapter when HH spoils the Nativity play in order to get a bigger speaking part for himself! My seven year old son thought it was hilarious that HH said that there was room at the inn for Mary and Joseph (played by Moody Margaret and Perfect Peter). HH is every teacher's worst nightmare pupil, but you cannot help laughing at the things he does and says. We love all the Horrid Henry books and eagerly await every single one when it is released!
horrid herny December 12, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Horrid henry books always make me chuckle and this is no exeption they are funny for adults and children alike and they use a wide range of topics. The one slight critisisum i have of it is that i find that some of the stories can be a tad repetative at times. Overall a great fun book sutable for all ages and it is garretied to make you laugh!
Cracking read! October 6, 2006 70 out of 73 found this review helpful
Well, we got the book yesterday and I read the first story to my 7 year old tonight, who's a true HH fan. We both expected some great stories and we weren't to be disappointed - the first story about the Christmas Play had me in hysterics. Me, a grown adult of nearly 40 years, suddenly finding myself immersed in the humour that reminds me of Python! Without going into detail and spoiling the story, Francesca Simon sets the scene beautifully, elegantly placing all the parts of the story before you, before ripping into the mayhem in true HH style. Can't wait to read the rest of it! Highly recommended.
