Seems pretty good to me... January 26, 2007 20 out of 22 found this review helpful
I was a bit nervous when buying this having read some of the reviews about it being poor, but decided to take the plunge based on the fact that it was pretty cheap and had obviously satisfied some people.
I've been impressed by it, and have used it solidy for a month now with no problems. It's coped with everything I've thrown at it - so far I've blindly used the high speed for everything after it spluttered a bit over some pineapple on the low setting...
I'd imagine the juice is a little gritty compared to more expensive juicers, but don't let that put you off - it's still tasty, and if you're on a budget I reckon you're getting a lot product for the money. The cleaning's a slight downside, but it can be done in about 3 minutes with running water and hasn't become a bind.
On balance I'm feeling better for the whole juicing thing and am a definite convert. This product does pretty much what it says on the tin and if you treat it carefully should give decent service. Enjoy...
Lifespan of 3 weeks? May 18, 2006 55 out of 57 found this review helpful
We bought this juicer on other peoples recommendations. We've used it daily for 3 weeks, only following recipes in the book, and in the first 2 weeks it juiced everything perfectly. Now it grinds to a halt and struggles to cope with most vegetables. There seems to be nothing we can do about it - no blades we're able to sharpen or anything. The manual offers no help. We always clean the parts, and brush the filter immediately after use. So quite an expensive device for a lifespan of 3 weeks!
buy something better May 18, 2006 51 out of 54 found this review helpful
I bought this juicer 9 months ago and I use it every day for 5-6 pieces of fruit. Even when the nozzle doesn't block with pulp the juice tends to overflow into the motor, making it impossible to clean. Now I have black oily liquid dripping from the base of the machine which, I guess is a mixture of fruit juice & oil from the motor. The manufacturers have offered to replace it with no hassle but I don't really want another one. I'd buy something better another time
great product for a great price April 12, 2006 37 out of 38 found this review helpful
i have just purchased this product & i love it.it's so easy to use and makes fantastic juice.the only draw back is the cleaning, you have to do it as soon as you've finished using it and you really need a toothbrush to clean the metal filter as it gets a bit clogged up(a cloth or sponge won't work).otherwise, a fantastic product.
A great buy for a first juicer April 12, 2006 32 out of 32 found this review helpful
After looking for a juicer and being astounded at the varying prices, I decided by the reviews to give this one a go.
As its my first juicer I can say for the price it is extremely good value.
It is easy to set up and clean. Providing you have a sinkful of soapy water cleaning is very easy.
Yes there is a lot of pulp, but all mine goes onto the compost heap so I dont see it as a waste. The 2-speed is essential for adding things like ginger and fennel, and the slower speed is good for spinach and watermelon.
