Perfect for gym enthusiast June 24, 2008 I bought this for my boyfriend over a year ago (May 2007). He uses it 4 times a week before he goes to the gym and to date there are no problems with it. It's easy to use and clean (he handwashes it as he doesn't have dishwasher - don't know if this might affect others that have gone bad) and it very hygenic - clean small areas with a bottle brush. It's particularly great at keeping your smoothie cold as it is a steel jug. Perhaps the others that have gone wrong are defective or mistreated. Due to the amount this maker is used, I'd well recommend it for regular use.
thread problem confirmed January 20, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
Initial thoughts were much as the other reviews, a sleek design that does its job well. However, after a few months ours too is sadly now of no use because, as with one of the other reviewers, the thread has now become "crossed" and it takes two people to screw it on. the stainless steel part of the jug has now come away from the plastic part, this was factory sealed, and the sealant has perished. This design is particularly un-hygenic as it cannot be completely stripped down for cleaning and, combined with the cross threading problem, makes for an unusable machine after just a few months.
Smoothie tastic December 30, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Personly i dont see the problem with what people are saying about the tap, it doesnt drip at all, BUT it doesnt pour out very well when the machine aint running...but if you have it on mix and push the tap down, it flows out perfectly. click the tap off and it's fine.
Easy to clean, even throu the tap,
Whips throu ice and fruit easily.
Great stuff.

Initially I was impressed with this product, but after only 4 months of light use, where your screw the blade onto the stainless steel flask has lost it's thread. So now every time you fill it up it LEAKS! Ahhhhhh
Smooth as ****! November 1, 2007 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Just got this yesterday and I was sceptical at first but I made a random smoothie out of a banana, pineapple, oranges, apple, and some ice and I have to say it was really nice!
Not sure what the other reviewer is going on about when he says that the lack of a sieve makes the smoothie not so smooth, if it did have a sieve then you wouldn't get all the fibre and good stuff from the fruit. You would effectively get just juice, and this isn't a juicer!
And in any case, the smoothie I made was very smooth and thick, no lumps or anything so I am very impressed!
Another thing, don't put a whole banana in with the skin! Peel it and then break the banana up into a few pieces. Same with an apple or pineapple, don't put the whole thing in, you have to get rid of the core or tough skin on fruits before it goes into the unit. You can leave thin skin in, basically you would eat an apple with the skin on so leave that in, but you wouldnt eat an orange with the skin on, well I don't anyway!
I give this 4 stars, loses one star because the tap drips a little after you pour and then close it, a very minor issue I have to say!
