If you just want one book of Indian cuisine, this is it January 11, 2001 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a very, very beautiful introduction (and more) to Indian cuisine. The book consists of three parts: Food in India, Cooking in India and The Recipes. Introductory part is about one fourth of the book, and it is very interesting to read and well written. The recepies are categorized to starters, soups, bread&rice, veggies, poultry, meat, seafood and desserts and even though there are not hundreds of recepies in this book, there is everything you will need for example to freshen up memories of your visits to the Spicy Subcontinent. Instructions are clear and concise. In fact they are so easy to follow that I have not managed to ruin anything I've cooked according to the book. I highly recommend this book.
