Lovely Greek Food March 7, 2008 This is a lovely book. Greek cooking can be delicious, but so often isn't. These recipes provide the key to wonderful Greek meals, and wafts you straight back to idyllic holidays. Definitely one to take on the self-catering Greek holiday but also, I've found, great in London. I've been trying to get those giant beans right for ages; now, with the authentic recipe, I've cracked it!
Great introduction to Kefalonian Cuisine December 27, 2007 The Greek Taverna Cookbook is based on authentic recipes from tavernas on the island of Kefalonia. Apart from the recipes, it is a great introduction to some of Kefalonia's more traditional tavernas. It's a handy book for me because although I live on Kefalonia I wouldn't dare ask the taverna owners for their secret recipes but I do use the book and love the easy recipes. The very laid back Greek style of life shows in some of the instructions! The book, like Kefalonian cooking itself, is simple and unpretentious and the illustrations are beautiful.
Bring Some Sunshine into your Life November 7, 2007 You don't need to have been to Kefalonia to enjoy this little gem of a cookery/culture guide! The selection of recipes are excellent and bring some summer sunshine into the kitchen: all ingredients being readily available and the layout and step-by-steps, clear and easy to follow, even if you're a novice cook!
This is an essential guide and cookery book if you enjoy simple, healthy Mediterranean food. The author has also littered the book with soft, pastel illstrations throughout, adding charm and character, which also makes the book an ideal gift!
This is a 'MUST BUY' for anyone who has already been to Greece, or thinking of going!!
