Previously I owned a Sharp microwave which served me well for 14 years before giving up the ghost, therefore I decided to stick with the Sharp brand for a replacement. The R259SL is a stylish, compact model and the silver finish would compliment any kitchen style. It is easy to set up - just plug in and go! If you're looking for a conventional microwave for defrosting and reheating or for cooking nothing more complicated than a baked potato, then this is the one for you. It has Auto-cook, Express-cook and Express-Defrost features which are very handy. One tiny niggle is that the power level is shown in percentage terms, (High = 100%, Medium High = 70% etc)so you have to remember which is which, but I guess it's just a matter of getting used to it. It may not have all the "bells and whistles" but the features it does have are very adequate for general use.
I opted for First Class delivery and the microwave arrived the day after despatch, so well done Amazon!
All in all, the RS259SL is a smashing little oven at a very reasonable price - excellent value for money.

Sharp state the oven capacity for this microwave as 22 litres so on this basis we bought it. It wasn't until we got the microwave out of the box we noticed it was a lot smaller than expected. In the back of the instruction booklet where it states the capacity there are two asterisks which read "Internal capacity is calculated by measuring maximum width, depth and height. Actual capacity for holding food is less". The cavity dimensions stated include the external panels, and not the inner dimensions making it 17L actual capacity.
