I am pleased with this breadmaker August 23, 2005 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I have used this breadmaker for a year now so feel I am able to provide a balanced review.I bought the breadmaker as an experiment and as it was the cheapest I found and had the best reviews - I have not been disappointed. I make at least 2 loaves of varying kind every week and even the failures have been tasty. Yes there have been failures because if you don't get the consistency just right the bread can be less than perfect. I wouldn't advise breadmaking to those who don't like to measure ingredients carefully. Overall I have been very pleased with my breadmaker and would recommend it to anyone who wants good, healthy, tasty loaves.
Tis Wonderful! October 17, 2004 22 out of 24 found this review helpful
I bought this on the recomendation of several other people. However, when I first used it I was disapointed, as the bread had a large hole in the bottom of it. However, I was adviced to let the bread stand for ten minutes in its tin and turn it out thus minimising the hole and now I have never looked back. For such a good price the bread is fantastic, soft and delicious. Its incredible easy to use and clean. all of the recipes work and the results are mouth watering. Invest in this and you will never buy shop bought bread again. Its a true little wonder and so good my sister has bought one. Best recipe is multi-grain bread which is just..............heaven. How often at this price can you come home (set the timer) to the smell of fresh bread, my family are on the phone ordering bread every few days. But it!
You Will Never Buy Shop Bought Again September 28, 2004 16 out of 18 found this review helpful
I bought this on the recomendation of some of the reviews. I used to make bread by hand. In the past week I have made four white loaves, a granary loaf and two brown/white loaves. The machine is extremely simple to use, after a few tries I am managing to produce beautifully soft, risen bread which is so easy to make. Put it on timer and come home from work and its done. Having said that the cake recpies are not so good (you cant win them all) and some of the bread is uneven. I have found that the more you use it for some reason the better the bread gets. It is extremely easy to follow the recipes, very clear to use the machine and bakes beautifully. I am making bread for family and friends, it is both cost effective and a great little mahcine. Piece of advice, when you make your bread leave it to stand for about 10 minutes in the tin and then turn it out, it lessens the hole at the bottom. So good to have great bread and it really does taste great.........buy an air tight box mines lasts for about five days...so impressed my sister bought one and thats high recomendation. The world is full of bread so make it and be the envy of all those people who buy shop bought sandwiches that taste like cardboard. Eat supermarket bread and then make this, you will soon know the difference, I have also started using flavoured oils and making my own recipes and each time..........perfect!
Does it live up to hype September 23, 2004 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
I bought this on other customers reviews. It is good but the dough blade leaves a messy hole, However, the white bread is delicious and i have made a granary loaf that looks odd but tasted amazing. For such an inexpensive machine its very in-expensive, easy to use and the instuctions are clear. My family are now being plied with bread and it is far superior to anything you get in the shops. Highly recommended and how nice to wake up to fresh bread, the recipes are also stunningly simple but taste.........well buy it you will see. also makes jam and cakes, how lazy do you have to be! I got this after years of handbaking bread, the results here are lighter, moist and beautifully cooked.
Amazing Machine February 15, 2004 80 out of 83 found this review helpful
I just got this breadmaker as a gift 5 days ago. I have made 7 beautiful fresh loaves of bread. White organic, whole wheat organic, banana and nut bread, and right now I am making dough for Bagels to have fresh for breakfast tomorrow. My neighbour sampled my bread and immediately went out and bought this Russel Hobbs breadmaker too. We are now having 'Bread Wars'. I am usually useless at cooking and baking, but now I am a genius! I will never ever buy a ready made supermarket loaf again. Last night I put the bread maker on a timer and when we woke this morning, we had delicious fresh baked bread, toasted with butter and marmelade. Yummy or what? The booklet is so well written and very easy to follow. Usually instruction booklets are a nightmare to follow, but this one is easy enough for a 6 year old to understand. My 9 year old son made a terrific loaf today with both white and brown organic flour. Get this machine today and say goodbye to the gummy glutinous supermarket stodge they call 'bread'.
