a fascinating read, even if you won't be able to cook anything in it June 24, 2007

i just about love this little baby.

in short, it's a book detailing all the different types of ingredients you can get, a bit of information on how to use them, some historical references and a taste of ms grigson's personal opinions (which i always find very readable).

to be honest, i don't think there's an awful lot in the book which you can actually cook - many of the ingredients are just too hard to get hold of - but i did try the broccoli and sun-dried tomatoes and it was delish.
