Lovely jubbly August 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this book to introduce some flavours into my rather bland lunchbox and I must admit this book is well above my expectations.
Usually you expect vegetarian food to be rather dull, a radish here and some celery there but this book proves vegetarian food is rather yummy.
There is so many different recipes that will have you rustling up a sandwich here and there without hesitation of giving it to a meateater.
There is plenty of wraps and sandiches is this book that you could make to take to a picnic, pack into your partners lunchbox and even make them for your kids-I'm convinced even little kids will love the vast flavours these sandwiches bring.
For any mums/dads/carers out there looking for a book to inject some flavour into lunchboxes in the new academic year this is a must buy for you. What's more you can cleverly disguise part of your childrens 5 a day into sandwishes and wraps.
The photos in this book...oohhh stunning.
Must have for vegetarians.
Great ideas for your snacks October 28, 2002 10 out of 10 found this review helpful
This book is really lovely! I an not a vegetarian, but I wanted some new ideas for sandwiches to change from the usual ham, salami, cheese ones. This book is really inspiring. Some of the recipes are a bit more time consuming than the "classic" ones, but the results are well worth it! The grilled portobello mushroom sandwich is wonderful and the focaccia with grilled eggplants and black olive-tomato spread makes me hungry just thinking of it! The layout is also really clourful and appealing and (more important) clear. A very good choice.
Vegetarian lunches need never be boring again! July 23, 2000 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
This is a great book for finding new ideas to brighten up dull lunchtimes. There are cold sandwiches (Roasted Red Pepper-Avocado Clubs with White Bean Hummus), warm sandwiches (Grilled Portobello Mushroom Sandwiches with Sun-Dried Tomato & Goat Cheese Spread), Wraps (Mexican Black Bean Pitas) and even sweet sandwiches (Choc Chip Ice Cream Sandwiches, made with choc chip cookies).Add chapters on accompaniments, sauces and spreads (plus mouth-watering photos)and you have numerous ways to ensure that your lunchtimes are always tasty. Excellent!
