Just works as it should - brilliant August 9, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this item about 4 months ago after giving up on the Tomy Platinum after having two Tomy units that broke over 18 months (if you're deciding between this and the Tomy do read my review on that item).
I was a little reluctant to buy a product that BT have stuck their name on as the BT brand just means 'mediocre' to me but I'm glad I overcame my irrational brand prejudice as this item is just BRILLIANT. It's solid, the features and product design are well thought out and the battery life is phenomenal, which is such a huge help when you're travelling with your baby monitor. A small point but indicative of the attention to detail is that the baby light is a warm yellow rather than a cold blue as on the Tomy (which was nasty and felt like one of those UV fly traps left on in shops over night).
It's probably got more features than I need but hardly a negative particularly given it's well priced. After 18 months of being disappointed and annoyed by the Tomy I'm just delighted with this BT product. It's cured me of my brand prejudice to the extent that I've just bought a BT internet radio.
Great Little Monitor July 1, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Bought this for our new baby and am really impressed. Compact, clear, easy to use has a light and plays melodies. Cheaper than everywhere else. What more can you ask for?
Brilliant - exceeded my expectations June 30, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Have just bought this for our 10 month old and I think it's fab - the lullabies are lovely and having the ability to play them, turn the light on or talk back to baby via the parent unit is so useful. The lights on the top are great for catching your eye and it's really good to know the temperature both in the nursery and on parent unit. I have taken the parent unit out into the garden and it works really well there too. I considered lots of different monitors before buying this one and am really pleased with my choice!
Poor temperature monitoring June 21, 2008 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I have recently purchased this baby monitor and thus far cannot fault it for sound monitoring. However, do not rely on the temperature monitoring function as it is somewhat inaccurate on my unit at over 3 degrees out (hotter) compared to a calibrated thermoreader device accurate to 0.1 centigrade.
Within the User guide BT state "the temperature sensor is intended as a guide only, to provide parents with an indication of the room temperature...." In my opinion it is less of an indication and more of a guestimate.
Great purchase May 28, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am writing this simply because it was the other reviews on monitors that pointed me towards this BT Monitor 150 model. It is in fact a great monitor and does everything it says and there is no silly 'noise'; in summary it does what it says on the tin and I feel is quite well priced.
Plus, the 'walky talky' functionality from the remote unit to the base unit has helped many a laugh between myself and hubbie, which can't be a bad thing let's face it...
