Brilliant for normal families November 3, 2007 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I have a million cook books full of recipies that are no use for families because of the need for it to be relatively quick to cook, inexpensive to purchase and appropriate for the younger pallet. This cook book is brilliant on all of those counts, my three year old loves everything I have tried and as for me, I am hardly a great cook but some of the results have been very impressive!
Fantastic! October 2, 2007 5 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've been so inspired by Gordon Ramsay that I have thrown away all the jars in the cupboard and now I make almost everything from scratch with fresh ingredients.
I've been cooking from Gordon's sunday lunch book which is wonderful, but find that I sometimes just want a recipe I can leave simmering so I dont have to spend long cooking, especially when I have guests over. I also work long hours so I want something I can start off and leave cooking whilst I get on with other things. THIS is what this book achieves for me.
I haven't been through every recipe but my favourites are: Steak and Guiness Pie Spaghetti Bolognaise Chilli Con Carne
The result is fantastic, I never imagined I could make a steak pie that rivals anything you can buy from the supermarket. The bolognaise is amazing.
The book is worth it for these recipes alone Happy Cooking!
Not good September 20, 2007 2 out of 17 found this review helpful
I don't like the huge portions and they are not realistic for a woman who is obviously stick thin and keep an eye on her weight. Stop referring to your husband and be original for once - if you can be.
Rubbish September 20, 2007 5 out of 22 found this review helpful
Cash in on your husband's notoriety. Great if you're a good cook. Slightly less simple if you're Tana Ramsay and don't inspire. Put up and shut up with the excellent money you have already.
Pretty Poor! September 3, 2007 11 out of 15 found this review helpful
I was bought this as a present. I've tried many recipies and not found any that I thought were any good and I'm a fairly good cook! I think the fact that the only magazine they can find to provide a positive review of it is Grazia, for which she is the food editor, speaks volumes about the quality of the recipies in this book.
