Stay away from this thing March 20, 2008 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
This item is bad news. I ordered one and it was dead on arrival. Amazon sent a replacement, this time it had a huge short circuit on the control panel the first I try to use it. After contacting Panasonic Service Center, I was told this (and some other Panasonic microwave ovens built in the UK) suffer from the same problem. Returned the second unit to Amazon and both a wonderful and reliable microwave oven from Sharp!
newer version March 6, 2008 8 out of 8 found this review helpful
I think this is the newer version of my oven, I have had mine 7 years and counting. Its the best thing since sliced bread! I use mine all the time My sponge cakes come out perfect every time, I use the grill accessory and oven rack and cook both sponge layers at once. It makes wonderful casseroles also cooks joints and well almost everything I need to cook! I have 4 children so have a large family and it manages perfectly well. I wouldn't be without mine and when it eventually dies will get another Panasonic. I have another cheaper brand of basic microwave as I found that I was waiting for the oven to finish and piling up food that just needed the microwave, but the other one is nothing compared to this one, it would have been nice to get another Panasonic but don't think my husband would have approved of me spending over 100 on a second microwave (he could just about cope with the 30 I spent) to him a microwave is just a microwave but us mums know better don't we? The only problem I had with mine was the door cracked after I had it a year but had an extended warranty and it was fixed free of charge with no fuss and the 'new' door is still going strong! I would recommend this brand to anyone. If you need a new microwave invest in a Panasonic! Its also good as a second oven especially at busy times like Christmas or like me you need to cook for an army every day!

Probably the best value microwave combination oven out there January 19, 2008 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I've had this microwave oven for about 4 months now and it does everything I'd need it to do - microwave, grill and oven, and I definitely haven't see any cheaper ones that are as good. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone.

Excessive 'standby' energy consumption November 9, 2007 49 out of 60 found this review helpful
I purchased one of these microwaves recently, and was very pleased with the overall cooking performance of the product. However, I have also recently purchased an energy meter, and have been testing my various home electrical appliances to check power consumption. When I tested my microwave, I was horrified to find that it was consuming around 70w on standby......yes 70watts !!! I returned the unit to the retailer (not amazon) who sent it away for testing/repair. The engineer was not able to find any fault with the microwave, and contacted Panasonic, who were apparently unconcerned. The engineer concluded that 70w is the normal standby energy consumption for this particular model. Manufacturers rarely publish standby energy consumption for microwaves - Amazon, perhaps you could state this information for microwaves you sell, as this would be really useful information for the consumer!
