I love this!! July 18, 2006 17 out of 17 found this review helpful
I have discovered so many delicious recipes in this little book that I always await the weekend in anticipation to have the chance to cook something from here (sadly, no time on week nights for serious cooking - but if I could, I'd love to eat the things here every day!) Everything is easy and quick to make, but some recipes require special ingredients that you might not be able to get in your corner shop. Before I discovered this little book, my dinners consisted either of rice with fried vegetables or pasta with stir-in tomato sauce... not exactly the most exciting veggie dishes on the planet! But the Vegetarian Student Cookbook enabled me to try new dishes that taste good, don't cost a fortune and are easy to make too.
Can't fault it! July 10, 2006 13 out of 13 found this review helpful
I am new to vegetarianism and was recommended Rose Elliott's books. I ordered a few of them and then came across this little gem. Now I am not a student I am 31 but this has to be the best veggie cookbook I have seen! Full of mostly easy recipes. I tried the Baked eggs this morning made with peppers, courgettes, onion, garlic, tomato, chilli flakes, paprika, chives and it was stunning! Something so simple but tasted wonderful.
No veggie should be without this book!
the best all round cookbook we've ever bought June 9, 2006 14 out of 14 found this review helpful
I bought this book as an after-thought thinking it might have some easy and affordable recipes in - it definitely does and much more. This should really be branded as a cookbook for everyday living - its full of tasty recipes that are easy and quick to cook, using ingredients that are widely available and not too expensive. We use it for 2 or 3 meals a week and some of the dishes have become firm family favourites. If I took one cookbook on a desert island (hoping it had a nearby supermarket!) this would be it - its great
from basic to brilliant November 6, 2005 32 out of 32 found this review helpful

Well. What can I say? I'm thoroughly impressed with this book. I adore cooking, but I'm not really one for complicated recipes - this book is JUST what I've been looking for, for so long. I've been enthusing about this wildly!! I recommend it to anyone that's looking for simple but tasty recipes, and especially those with no patience for cooking (like me)! Students, watch out, soon you'll be eating healthily and you won't even realise it!
